Over the years I have had many opportunities to speak to groups of athletes and businesspeople. I value these experiences as an avenue to spread the good word about the sport of rowing and the fundamental building blocks basic to rowing: hard work, teamwork and communication. I have spoken to and shared my experiences with large stadiums of 5 to 11 thousand people as well as with smaller groups and conferences ranging from 30 to 500 people. Despite the size of the audience, my goal remains the same. That goal is to communicate my own passion and excitement for rowing and use the building blocks of hard work, teamwork, and communication to inspire others in approaching challenges and setbacks to ultimately be the best at what they do.
